Public service project

One real problem at a time.

20XX takes one everyday problem, writes the steps, and links the official page each step comes from.

Bills, scams, benefits, and simple fixes. The work stays on this site, so anyone can see what is covered and when the sources were checked.

The project is tied to @dynafuture20XX on X.

How 20XX works

  1. One problem

A guide is one task you can finish. Not a pile of tips.

  2. Official sources

If a step is not on a government or bureau page, it does not go in the guide.

  3. In public

This list is the record. Each guide shows the date the sources were checked.

Guides

Three guides are up. The election and enrollment guides are on the calendar this fall. The credit freeze is worth doing any week of the year.

  1. Scam texts about voting or donations

How to spot and report election-season scam texts

Do not tap links in a surprise voting or donation text. Check your registration at vote.gov, then report the message to the FBI at ic3.gov.

  2. Two health deadlines in one season

Medicare open enrollment and ACA Marketplace dates

Medicare Open Enrollment is October 15 to December 7. Marketplace Open Enrollment is November 1 to January 15. Enroll by December 15 for January 1 coverage.

  3. Stop new credit accounts in your name

How to freeze your credit for free

Freeze your credit for free at Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. A freeze at one bureau does not cover the others. It lasts until you lift it.

  4. Smoke alarms that are dead, missing, or too old

Test your smoke alarms when the clocks fall back

Daylight saving time ends Sunday, November 1, 2026. Use that weekend to test every smoke alarm, change batteries, and check each alarm's age.

  5. Not knowing if leftovers are still safe to eat

How long leftovers are safe, and how to cool and reheat them

USDA rules for leftovers. Refrigerate within 2 hours, eat within 3 to 4 days or freeze, and reheat to 165 degrees F.

  6. Expired or unused medicines sitting in the cabinet

Clear out old medicines on Take Back Day, October 24

DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 24, 2026, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. Here is how to find a site and what to do if you miss it.

Common questions

  • What is 20XX?

20XX is a public-service project from @dynafuture20XX. It publishes one guide at a time for a real everyday problem, with steps checked against official sources.

  • Is this advice I should rely on by itself?

No. It is not legal, financial or medical advice. If a guide and the official page disagree, use the official page. Each guide lists those pages and the date the sources were checked.

  • How do I hear about the next guide?

Email signup is coming soon and is not open yet. Follow @dynafuture20XX on X for now.

  • What if my state does it differently?

Use the guide as a starting point, then confirm the state rule. Voting rules, Marketplace websites, and some deadlines depend on where you live. The guides link to the state pickers on vote.gov and HealthCare.gov.
